WTSDA Region 7, 2018 Spring Tournament

What better way for a Tang Soo Do practitioner to shake off cabin fever than to show up for some hot competition in the Region 7 Spring Tournament! The event was held again this year at Taylors First Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina on Saturday, May 5th . 161 Competitors came out to battle it out including a record number of Tiny Tigers who took the place by storm! It’s so encouraging to see these young students showing such passion and enthusiasm for Tang Soo Do! They are the promising future of the World Tang Soo Do Association. Having earned the Spirit Award for an outstanding spring Black Belt test, Ms. Jenna Stephens received her award (left). In addition, Mr. David Harr and Miss Talyn Fan (not pictured) both received the Scholarship Award in the form of a check for $1,500 toward educational expenses.

During the event, Master Joe Scota, Director of Region 7, announced that we were taking donations to help our brothers and sisters in Region 18 with the rebuilding and recovery from damage caused by last year’s hurricane and/or to support the studios and students of Region 18 in the best way they see fit. That account will be tallied and presented to Master Burgos, Region 18 Director, at a later date. It was an exciting, fun-filled day for all. Congratulations to all competitors and to those who received special recognition! Tang Soo!
